Moving in Barnet

Which parts of Barnet do you cover?

The whole London Borough of Barnet — Chipping and High Barnet (EN5), New and East Barnet (EN4), Whetstone and Totteridge (N20), North Finchley (N12), Friern Barnet (N11), and out towards Hendon, Mill Hill and Edgware. We work across North London too, and we run European moves departing from Barnet.

Can you get a van onto a high street to load?

Yes, with a plan. The Chipping Barnet and Whetstone high streets carry loading restrictions, red routes and bus lanes, so we work out the legal spot and the right window ahead of the day, and expect a carry from wherever the van can stop. Planning the loading is half the job on a town-centre move.

Do you handle steep or awkward access, like Barnet Hill?

We do. High Barnet’s gradients, the one-way systems, permit-controlled streets and first-floor offices above the shops are all normal for us. We check the access at both ends before the day and bring the crew and kit to carry safely, rather than being surprised on the morning.

Do you cover Totteridge and the larger houses?

Yes. The big detached houses along Totteridge Lane and the Common — long driveways, gated approaches, plenty of contents — are moves we plan for. Access is usually easier than a town-centre job, but the volume is greater, so we size the crew and vehicles to the house.

Are you the same as barnet-removals.co.uk?

We are a sister site, split by what we lead on. This site (barnet-removals.uk) leads on business — office, commercial and man-and-van moves. barnet-removals.co.uk leads on general residential house moves. Between them the borough is covered, and you land on the team that fits your move.

Services & pricing

Business moves, services and quotes

Can you move our office outside working hours?

Yes — for most Barnet offices that is how we run it. Evenings and weekends are common, and a larger site we do floor by floor so key teams stay live throughout. You get a written move sequence before the day, not a rough plan on the morning.

Do you handle IT, servers and desks?

We do. Workstations, monitors, servers and comms are unplugged, wrapped and crated per desk, labelled to a floor-plan, then reconnected at the new site so people log straight in. For anything specialist we agree the handover with your IT provider beforehand.

Do I need a full removal or just a man and van?

It comes down to how much there is and where it has to go. A few desks, a single office, a studio or a single item is usually a man-and-van job; a fuller office or a whole house is a proper removal. Tell us what you have and we will recommend the honest size rather than up-sell you.

Do you do house and office clearance?

Yes. Alongside moving we clear old furniture, equipment and general waste from homes and premises — a downsizing office, a garage, a probate clearance — taken away and disposed of responsibly. We can combine a clearance with a move in the same booking.

Do you charge for a survey or a quote?

No — both are free and come with no obligation. For anything commercial or sizeable we would rather see the space, in person or by video, so the written quote reflects the real job instead of a guess.

How do I get a price?

Send the details through the quote form — both addresses, roughly what is moving, and anything that shapes the day like desks, IT, a lift or access. We read it and reply by email with a clear, no-obligation quote. We do not quote a figure on the phone that we cannot stand behind.

Storage & Europe

Storage & moving abroad

Do you offer storage in Barnet?

Yes — clean, dry, secure storage as part of your move. It suits a gap between premises, an office fit-out in progress, surplus stock or furniture, or a home sale still going through. Your goods are collected, held on a labelled inventory and delivered back by the same team, so there is no separate hire to arrange.

Can you store business stock and records?

Yes. Surplus office furniture between moves, seasonal or overflow stock, equipment during a refit, or archived records that need keeping but not underfoot — all held securely and listed on an inventory so you know exactly what is in store and can get it back when you need it.

How long can you store our things?

From a short bridge of a week or two between completions to a longer spell while a fit-out or an overseas move sorts itself out. We agree the arrangement up front and you can extend or bring the delivery forward as your plans firm up.

Which European countries do you move to from Barnet?

We run regular routes from Barnet to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Each has its own page with the road route, the regions we reach and how the customs paperwork works. Other European destinations we look at case by case.

Do you handle the customs paperwork for a move abroad?

Yes. Since Brexit an EU move needs a customs declaration and a detailed inventory, and used household effects can usually come in under transfer-of-residence relief when you are moving your main home. We prepare the declarations and transit documents and tell you exactly what to provide.

Can you collect from outside Barnet for a European move?

We can. Barnet is our base, but we collect across London and, where it suits the route, from cities like Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh. If part of your move is elsewhere in the UK, we build it into the same run.

Are my belongings covered while you move them?

Your goods are handled with care and covered in transit and in storage. The specifics of cover and any excess are set out in the booking terms, and we are happy to talk them through before you commit — just ask.
